Police in Pader district arrested and released Denis Okot on bond for confiscating Ogom sub-county chairperson’s motorcycle Yamaha-made with registration number LG 0046/098 over failure to clear his debt amounting to Sh. 119,000.
Okot was arrested yesterday, 15th March in the evening when he went to report to police the confiscation of the motorcycle and debt that Bosco Amone, who is the chairperson III of Ogom sub-county owe him.
Okot reportedly stormed Bosco Amone’s home in Ogom Telela Central village, Ogom Sub County in the morning of Tuesday, 15th March, and confiscated the motorcycle.
However, Joel Aboda, Ogom sub-county chairperson for the business community admitted getting the report about the debt. He added that Amone owes the business community a lot of money, and other business people are planning to confiscate his items for compensation.
Amone rejected the claims of being a debtor and said his motorcycle went missing when he came back from showering. He added that he doesn’t know the whereabouts of the motorcycle
However, the motorcycle was later handed over to Amone following the release of Okot on police bond.
Comments from police went futile as the DPC Pader, ASP. Abraham Tukundane was not reachable.
