Trade Exhibition Excites Gulu District Leaders

The Northern Uganda Agriculture show (trade exhibition) that began on 27th June 2022 has excited both leaders and residents, exhibitors of Gulu district.


The trade show was under the theme: “Unlocking agriculture innovation, technology, and agribusiness for livelihood reconstruction."


While addressing exhibitors, the Gulu Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Charles Ichogor together with his deputy appreciated the Ministry of agriculture for bringing this big event to Gulu district. Mr. Ichogor said that it's timely since the country is moving towards a Money economy through the implementation of the Parish development Model. He further applauded the NRM government under the leadership of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the promotion of research work in the country, whereby many innovations by scientists are taking shape in development.

Mr. Ichogor directed the office of the Chief Administrative Officer to mobilize all school-going children to witness the trade exhibition as a way of encouraging children to do science subjects since they will be told the importance of technology in agriculture. The representative of the Ministry for Agriculture, Animals husbandry and fisheries Ms. Consolata Acayo while officiating the opening launch of the Northern Uganda Agriculture show, thanked Gulu district for welcoming the initiative. Acaya blamed and accused shoddy work at the youths' skilling Centre on the office of the CAO for failing to supervise and monitor the project. Gulu district Deputy RDC, Mr. James Okidi encouraged people to plant bananas and even coffee because the land here is so fertile and can promote the growth of varieties of crops. “I must appreciate the NRM government for providing peace and security in Gulu and the entire Acholi subregion, and it's because of this peace that's why today we are witnessing many exhibitors from Kampala, West Nile, and Lango among others flocking the venue". Mr. Okidi asserted. The trade exhibition which began on Monday 27th June 2022 in Gulu City will run for one week and ends on Sunday 3rd July 2022.
