Local leaders in Agago district have called the government project of the Acholi war debt claimant a political tool following a series of empty promises made by the government to her citizens who were affected by the lord resistance army war invasion in the late 1990s.
Vincent Okidi, chairperson of Geregere village, Geregere sub-county in Agago district has termed the government project to be political because it's majorly during the campaign that it sang to people. He adds that after the election campaign has ended, everything ends.
In a response to the above claim, Tonny Awany, Nwoya county member of parliament says that there are several government projects that are being worked on. He adds that being a member of the presidential affairs committee, they will ensure that the project is followed.
However, Awany further hinted at the addition of funding on the Restocking project that was allocated shillings 50billion, to be added shillings 100billion since they realized it is little for the whole beneficiaries.
According to Awany, Acholi will be prioritized to benefit first since they were the worst hit, people.
