Members of Parliament in Agago district have vowed to block the resident district commissioner’s transfer that has been made by the office of presidents to Omoro on the basis of demanding a clear explanation as to why he is being transferred.
These vows came during a ceremony organized by one of the area members of parliament, and attended by the former Agago district resident commissioner and now Omoro district, Andrew Onyug.
However, Andrew didn’t have a say on his transfer to Omoro following the vowing of the four district members of parliament who include; Hon. Lagen Atuka, Richard Anywar, Akorie Beatrice and Okot Amos.
Lagen Atuka, a member of parliament for Agago county says that they are not happy as the area members of parliament from Agago district upon the transfer of their RDC. He adds that all the four MPs from Agago district had already met the minister in charge of the presidency to discuss the matter at hand.
According to Lagen, Agago district is not a dustbin where people with low capabilities are damped. He further added that in the coming weeks they will meet the minister again to discuss the same matter so that RDC is not transferred.
“We will demand a clear explanation on how and why the RDC is being transferred yet he has got unfinished business that could see several developments in the district," Lagen added.
