Agago district parliamentarians are in talks with the Ugandan president and health minister over the construction of the district hospital that is not in existence since the creation of the district yet the locals are suffering from the referrals to a good hospital.
Agago district was created on 1st July 2010. From Pader district but since then it is not having a general hospital to help in referrals yet there is the presence of covid-19 pandemic that is hitting the country.
Lagen David Atuka, member of parliament for Agago county says that they will jointly come together as Agago district parliamentarians and talk with the Ugandan president, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa, on the issues of scarcity of general hospitals in the district and the entire region of Pader and Agago district. He added that since the two districts were created, no hospital was awarded to them, and they will fight for it.
Lagen further said that he gave 4 oxygen cylinders to the district of Agago to help in the fight against the covid-19 as oxygen is the scarcest input in fighting the deadly disease and very expensive too.
Meanwhile, Beatrice Akori Akello, woman Mp for Agago says that even if there is no hospital in the district, people should endeavour to follow the standard operating procedures as it is the best way to fight the disease.
