Caritas, Gulu Archdiocese have on Wednesday, 9th 2022, launched their new project to Pader district stakeholders that seek to benefit the vulnerable persons for the period of three years with funding from the German government.
This project is called, strengthening the social participation of women, children and youth in Uganda, with donors being the Caritas Germany with support from the German Ministry of Economic cooperation and Development (BMZ) with a budget of over 400,000 euros.
Augustine Odokonyero, project coordinator stated that the new project will cover only two sub counties of; Atanga and Puranga. He added that this is due to financial constraints that the world faced due to covid-19 on the socioeconomic lives of people.
Festo Okidi, Pader district community development officer, thanked the idea that Caritas, Gulu came with by urging other development partners to do the same. He, however, cautioned all the development partners within the district to submit monthly reports to the district.
This new project is set to benefit 8,400 vulnerable children, vulnerable young people and parents up to about the age of 25 years with each comprising halves of gender equality.
