No Remittance, No Tax Collection - Chairperson III Threatens

Pader town council urban chairperson has 5th July 2022 threatened to block tax collections from the locals in town council over accumulated tax remittance of over Shs. 15 million for the financial year 2021/2022 that has failed.

Fearless Kilama Wod-Acholi, the urban chairperson III for Pader town council commented during an interview from his office by saying that he will spearhead the blocking of tax collection since the central government has failed to remit their share.

According to Kilama, they managed to collect Shs. 32.1million from 535 customers against an estimated collection of Shs. 58million and they are currently demanding Shs. 15.4million.

He added that they have written a letter to the chief administrative officer, Mr. Chelimo Alex, to follow up on the matter.

However, Mr. Ghandy O. Odyek, the Pader acting chief finance officer acknowledged receipt of the letter and said that they have written a letter to the ministry of finance, planning, and administration about the matter, but to date, no feedback.
