Leaders blasted the district chief administrative officer following his deliberation stating that there is no corruption in the district during a budget conference held at the district council hall last week.
Mr. Alex Chelimo, the Pader CAO stated that people are forcing corruption to take place in the district, despite no corruption reported in the district.
"People want to force corruption on Pader. There's no corruption in Pader," Mr. CAO claimed.
However, Mr. Christopher Anywar Mugisha, the Ajan sub-county councilor refuted the claim by asking the CAO to explain the meaning of spending revenues at source, if not corruption.
"The CAO should restrain and admit there is corruption when he spoke about revenue spending at the source," Anywar asserts.
The Pader district chairperson, Mr. Fearless Obwoya Oyat, blamed all the emerging problems saying that several of them were inherited from the past regime. He admitted there is corruption that cannot be fought by only one person.
"Corruption is not fought by one person, it's a collective effort," Pader LC V said.
Mr. Obwoya openly stated that the most corrupt project within the district is the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF) without clarifying.
