6 Tests Positive of Covid-19 in Ogonyo Puranga, As Pader Positive Covid-19 Cases, Surpasses 500

A family of six people tested positive of covid-19 recently in Ogonyo found in Puranga sub-county, Pader district as the district battles enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb down the spread of the covid-19 with positive cases over 570.


Recently, Ogonyo market was reported as one of the major spots that need to be assessed as the SOPs as directed by the president are not observed.


Apiyo Hannah, acting district health officer, Pader says that there are 573 positive cases reported from Pader district alone, with Angagura having over 100 cases. She added that a family of 6 in Ogonyo tests positive with one death registered in Puranga sub-county.


Enock Musime, Pader district police commander says that it has been reported to them that people are not following the SOPs in Ogonyo market in Puranga and this calls for intervention. He added that they will make sure the SOPs are followed as directed by the president.


Meanwhile, Dusman Okee, Pader district resident commissioner warned the people operating in the market that they risk closure as long as they don’t follow the SOPs because the cases of covid-19 are increasing in Ogonyo.
