Fuso Driver on a Run After Knocking One Dead, Injuring Two in Amuru District


Amuru Central Police are hunting for an unknown driver of motor vehicle Registration Number UBG 253X Fuso for knocking one pedestrian dead and injuring two people on 20th April 2022 at around noon at Abolokodi village, Atiak sub-county along Gulu-Nimule highway in Amuru district.


The injured are Agnes Alonyo, 42, a resident of Pachilo village, Atiak sub-county in Amuru District, and her child Samuel Okumu, 3, and the deceased has been identified as Katalina Andria, 40, a resident of Abolokodi village, Atiak sub-county in Amuru district.

ASP David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region police spokesperson said the traffic officers rushed to the scene and evacuated the injured victims to Atiak Health Center IV for medical assistance meanwhile the body of the deceased was taken to the same facility for postmortem.


Mudong added that the motor vehicle is still at the scene pending towing to the police for the Inspector of Vehicle for inspection.


Mudong said that the cause of the accident has been attributed to reckless driving, and he urged the driver of the above vehicle to voluntarily hand himself to any nearest police to help in the investigation to avoid attracting some other penalties.

A case of a fatal accident has been registered at Amuru central police station under vide TAR 47/2022
