The speaker of the Ugandan parliament has proposed during the send off-prayer held at Paipir primary school to move a motion of honouring late lieutenant general Paul Lokech in the parliament.
This comes just a day after Acholi district councils sat to pay tribute to the late and demanded the honouring of his corpse that wasn’t done in Parliament.
The proposal was received with applause from the thousands of mourners who had thronged Paipir Primary school for the send-off of Lieutenant General Paul.
Oulanyah hailed Lt Gen Lokech for the great changes he made in the Uganda Police Force within a short time of his appointment and his efforts towards a peaceful stay in the region.
Jacob L. Oulanyah, speaker of Uganda parliament says that in the course of the next two weeks tribute motion will be moved in Parliament and debated upon.
He adds that all the members of parliament from Northern Uganda should be able to say something about the late lieutenant general Paul Lokech in the Parliament.
According to Oulanyah, the debate will cover several things concerning the tragedy that took place suddenly, and he himself will be there to give the closing remarks.
