Following the recent borehole commission in the district, a number of households were found not to have a latrine of which it’s the main housing that must be put in place before full settlement is assumed and this frustrated the leaders calling for their intervention.
The district officials during their official duty discovered a gap in a health-related matter that needs to be addressed in the village of Opota-matuku, Bongtiko sub-county in Pader district where about three-quarters of the households do not have latrines.
A local from the village, says that there were latrines at their place, but as a result of over raining, it was destroyed. She adds that they will soon construct a new one.
The village chairperson, John Bosco Ochan at the time of writing the news was unable to say anything because he was drunk.
Emmanuel Okware, deputy resident district commissioner Pader says that all the households must ensure good sanitation through practising effective latrine coverage.
Fearless Oyat Obwoya, Pader district chairperson says he is frustrated about the scarcity of the latrines in the area of Opota-matuku village. He adds that the village chairperson of the area must ensure that all the households in his jurisdiction have at least one good functional latrine.
