Locals Applauds Museveni's Opinion on Defilers and Rapists

Locals in Pader, Agago districts have on Tuesday, 8th applauded the idea stated by the president of the republic of Uganda on the defilers and rapists to be killed by hanging since they are too disastrous to the other locals.

While presiding over the opening of the New Law Year at the High Court in Kampala on February 4, 2022 in Kampala on Friday, President Museveni said "anybody who rapes or defiles a girl must die." He added that, those are the views of his constituencies".

Francis Komakech, a local in Paiula Sub County stated that the idea is a good one, though the law makers are the one who owned it and break it as well.

Daniel Oyet, a resident of Omot sub county in Agago district said that the president must enforce other laws that will seek to impact positively on the lives of people like his former colleague, Idi Amin. He added that the acts of rape and defilement are so evil that needs stringent measures to curb it.

Meanwhile, James Ocaya, a local in Pader town council stated that majority in prisons are innocent while the guilty ones are out. He added that law makers are the breakers, by citing the age limit issue that was over turned by the legislatures upon approval by themselves as they tend to be soft in handling their relatives and their own issues.

Typically, rape is having unlawful carnal knowledge of a woman or girl without her consent. Defilement is having or attempting sexual intercourse with a girl under 18 years of age
