Pader district News Update;
Locals in Pader have blasted the policing entity about the rampant blame on the issues of money extortions similar to robbery during the covid-19 pandemic as the majority are now working as traffic police officers along the way.
P.K Alanyo, a boda-boda rider in Pader town says that they know about the directive given by the president on covid-19 but other police officers are arrogant and use the fine being levied upon curfew breakers to extort money from them.
Meanwhile, Richard Okema, a boda-boda in Pader alleged that a police officer known as Alita is extorting money from people a lot ranging from 10,000/= and above per person. He added that Alita is now becoming traffic police yet he is not.
According to Richard, police forces should get rid of such people because they are tarnishing the name of the police force in the district.
However, an attempt to reach the accused person of extorting money from the boda-boda was futile as his contact was unreachable.
Musime Enock, Pader district police commander says people should report and produce evidence for the extortion allegations levied upon the police force so that the issue can be handled. He added that it’s unlawful to do that by an officer on duty.
This covid policy is against the usual ways of earning a living turning those ones in their hustles to criminals, without any alternatives drafted by the govt to cater for them which is so alarming.
