Locals in Agago Decry Wrongful Allocation Of Operation Wealth Creation Inputs

Locals in Agago district are calling their leaders for immediate help as concerns arises in the operation wealth creation program in their district because the reliefs given are not of

the public demand.


Recently, Agago district locals were given mango seedlings as one of the operation wealth creation aids without their demand.


Opira Nelson, a resident of Lunyiri in Lira Palwo sub county, Agago district says the program of operation wealth needs to be altered because the inputs they are giving are of no impact to the daily life situations. He added that they are now calling for intervention from their immediate leaders who were elected to various positions.


Acaa Poline, a resident of Ataba village, Lutome parish, Lira Palwo Sub County says that the inputs are being wrongly allocated and time. She added that OWC needs to meet the demand of people instead of wasting the resources.


However, when contacted, Akello Beatrice Akori, woman Member of Parliament, Agago district says locals should be patient as they try to find out what the matter could be. She added that they are planning to meet the OWC chief coordinator, Gen. Salim Saleh to discuss the matter affecting the OWC and how to elevate poverty among people in Acholi region.


Akori further urges the locals to always plant crops that are resistant to weather because the weather is no longer like in the past, and it’s now unpredictable.
