The ministry of water and environment are planning to embark on tree planting to help curb and encounter issues of indiscriminate tree cutting in the region.
Recently, the tree cover has been cut down for different purposes including charcoal, timbers, wood, among others whereby the most culprits are foreigners.
During the send-off of Late Lt Gen. Lokech, minister of state for environment and water, Hon. Beatrice Anywar said that next year her ministry will distribute tree seedlings to the people of northern Uganda.
Beatrice further urges people to prepare their lands for the cultivation of the tree plantation as this will help in the fight against rampant tree cutting and weather.
For sure, this will help us the Northerners
