The sub county chairperson of Geregere has called upon the locals in the district to go and get a covid-19 jab to help fight in the spread of covid 19 that has claimed the lives of millions of people in the world today as there are available vaccines at the government health centers.
Martin Odoch, chairperson of Geregere sub county made this statement on the day of launching the 150 groups of village savings and credits formation in Geregere primary school, in Agago district.
Odoch said that covid-19 is spreading rapidly hence the need to vaccinate the whole population as this will ease the movement of people.

According to Odoch, anybody who will defy the vaccination processes will call for a resolution to prevent that person from accessing some important places that harbors many people in the area.

However, this did not go well with other locals who reacted bitterly to the chairperson’s directive on vaccination processes.
Berna Acuma said that nobody knows when will covid-19 is going away and this calls for mass vaccination of the people. She added that there are people who tend to disseminate ill information to the locals about the vaccines yet they are not true.
Berna further added that there are people who are really stubborn and perhaps defy government projects that are meant to benefit the locals.
She claims that the word used by the chairperson is a mobilization skill preferred by him as he was trying to let people get vaccinated against the deadly disease.
A person under anonymity says that the chairperson does not have the authority to stop one from accessing the above-said places. He adds that it’s a right of one to choose to be vaccinated or not, and the chairperson should stop threatening people.
