Pader Sub-County assistant secretaries (SAS) have blamed covid-19 focal people for poor performance in the second phase of the covid-19 mass vaccination campaign during a planning meeting held at the district council hall on Tuesday, 22nd March.
Nancy Adokorach, Puranga sub-county assistant secretary said that the SAS are not engaged during the planning and implementation of covid-19 vaccination campaigns yet they are pinned to produce accountability.
She added that people who used the fund should be held responsible for accountabilities.
Hanah Apiyo, acting Pader district health officer said that the second covid-19 mass vaccination campaign performance of the district is at 35 percent compared to 85 percent for the first campaign.
According to Apiyo, the poor performance is attributed to denial of vaccines to locals without a national identification card, lack of covid-19 fund accountability. She urged health workers to vaccinate anybody with or without ID, meanwhile the sub-county assistant secretaries help to follow and investigate how covid-19 funds are being used.
However, Dusman Okee who is the Pader resident district commissioner blamed the poor performance on love for money that is too high among workers instead of loving their work. He urged the sub-county chairpersons and sub-county chiefs to mobilize for a mass vaccination campaign.
