According to Okello, teachers have been intimidated and frustrated majorly by high-profile politicians such as members of parliaments, and ministers, among others.

Pader town council urban chairperson III, Fearless Kilama Wod-Acholi blamed the strike on the poor governance that the government has failed to institute the minimum wage.
He urged government officers such as RDCs to go slow without intimidating the teachers.
Meanwhile, David Lam Komekech, the Pader district education secretary defended teachers by saying that the district leadership is with the teachers, but should strike and teach according to their salary scale.
