Area sub-county chairperson IIIs of the newly created administrative units in Pader district have petitioned the Pader Resident District Commissioner (RDC) over non-payments of ex-gratia for 452 leaders at both the village and parish levels.
Mr. Brilliant Tito Okello, the Pajule town council chairperson who is the lead petitioner through their letter dated 4th July 2022, said that they are not against the payment of the chairperson 1s and 2s, but the fund sent for ex-gratia for the last financial year 2021/2022 must be explained where it is.
The petition demands that the office of the RDC seek justification as to why eleven administrative units missed the funds, and where the fund had gone for a total of 406 village and 46 parish chairpersons respectively.
However, Mr. Milton Odongo, the Pader resident district commissioner commented about the alleged petition saying that he has not received any letter from the sub-county chairpersons.
Each village and parish chairperson are entitled to receive Shs. 120,000 as their ex-gratia yearly.
