Pader Registers 8 New Positive Covid-19 Cases, Totaling to Accumulative Positive Cases to 709

Pader district has registered a new 8 covid-19 positive cases totalling 709 as a result of failure to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) given by the health ministry since the district began testing of the suspected cases among the community members.
A total of 8933 samples have been tested since the testing began in the district.
102 patients are being monitored in the home-based care systems and a total of 602 recoveries within the district.
Recently, a total of 16 covid-19 tests were done of which 8 were positive with contacts of 67
Currently, active cases of covid-19 per sub-county stand as; Lapul is 25, Awere is 18, Atanga is 14, Pader town council is 11, Pader sub-county is 11, Angagura is 8, Puranga, Pajule and Ogonyo with 4 active cases each and Latanya sub-county having 2 as of 18th of August 2021.
However, during the district task force meeting, there were a number of challenges disclosed among which included; few resources for enforcement of the relevant activities, Ajan sub-county curfew following is defied, among many others.
Hannah Apiyo, Pader district acting health officer says the covid-19 cases are increasing day and night in the district. She adds that Lapul is leading the race because there is a presence of charcoal dealers from Kenya who is not tested and treated.
