Pader district resident commissioner has cautioned the local leaders at the community level to stay warned and remember to enforce the presidential directives on the covid-19 to help fight the pandemic.
This statement comes after a series of marketplaces that were banned from resuming were seen operating without strict following of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as directed by the president.
Dusman Okee, Pader district resident commissioner said people have completely forgotten to follow the SOPs as it was before. He further reminded the district residents that he will be receiving forces soon to enforce the SOPs since people are not willing to do so.
According to Okee, since the burial of the late Gen. Lokech, there are redundancies in following the SOPs, and this calls for immediate response. He adds that he has also acknowledged the resumption of some businesses that were directed by the president to remain close, and these include; market places (auctions), some clubs are also reported to have open.
He further warned the village and the sub-county chairpersons that they are the immediate people to enforce the SOPs at the village and sub-county level respectively. He adds that failure to do so will amount to arrest in case of attempted murder.
