Residents in Abilnino village in Lira-Kato sub-county, Agago district are decrying the lack of government health facility following the recent drug withdrawals from the health facility due to a court order which directed the district to evict the land.
Odong Robert, a resident of Abilnino says that they are yet to hear from the district concerning the scenario that took place that left the entire population without health services. He added that other health facilities close to their vicinity are far away and can’t be accessed by the locals.
Robert further urges the district to intervene and sort the issues since the locals are suffering.
However, Agago district secretary of health, Berna Achuma says that the district is aware of the occasion that left the residents in Abilnino village without proper health facilities. She added that the district was met with a serious court junction to leave the premises since the acquisition process was not followed well, and the owner has wanted too much that the district can’t afford in these hard times.
Achuma further said that they opted to clear out one of the classroom blocks to be used as the health facility since the locals can’t continue like that. According to Achuma, the block will perhaps be renovated to keep drugs, then the district drug inspector will inspect it so that it can be used to benefit the people for the time probably on Monday 12th/July/ 2021.
