A village chairperson of Lacor-oboo in Pader district has been accused of horse-trading bread costing Ugandan shillings 100 each with a government stamp on Sunday, 24th April 2022 from Atanga sub-county.
Walter Ochola, chairperson of Lacor-oboo village, Opatte parish, Atanga sub-county in Pader district was accused by locals after he was spotted giving a government stamp for the exchange of bread known as ‘cookies.’
Francis Okot, village chairperson of Odani and a businessman told our reporter that he ultimately relieved Ochola after he horse-traded the government stamp with bread from his shop. He added that he took the stamp to Joseph Oyet, the chairperson II of Opatte parish since he’s a leader too.
Okot added that this act was uncalled for since the stamp belongs to the public and not his. He added that Ochola pledged the stamp while he was seriously drunk on Sunday.
However, Mark Ongola Patrick, the Atanga sub-county chairperson said that he is not aware of the alleged stamp trade with the bread. He added that he will investigate more and find out since he was away from the office.
