The area Member of Parliament from Nwoya district, under Nwoya county constituent, has pledged to squeeze the Ugandan government on why there is the presence of Northern Uganda Social Action Funds (NUSAF) in other districts yet they are not from the regions.
Northern Uganda Social Action Funds project is a government of Uganda and World Bank-funded project currently being implemented in 55 districts of Northern Uganda coordinated by the office of the Prime Minister and invented in early March 2017 with NUSAF – 1.
Tonny Awany, Nwoya county member of parliament and a member of the presidential affairs committee says that he is frustrated why the project is called Northern Uganda Social Action Fund yet there are districts that are benefiting from the project.
Awany adds that the matter needs redress and insists that he will ask the government under what circumstances the districts of Busia, Mbale among others come to be part of Northern Uganda.
NUSAF is a project that is meant to benefit the poor households and build the resilience of the poor and vulnerable households, enhance transparency and service delivery and strengthen institutional capacity development in Northern Uganda.
