Police in Pader district are holding a woman suspected of murder on the 13th of October 2022 after she allegedly killed a boy of about one-month-old from Adongkena East village, Parewic parish, Te-nam Sub County in Pader district.
The suspect had been identified as Oliver Angwech, 20, a stepmother to the deceased, and a resident of Adongkena East village, Ten-nam Sub County in Pader district.
The deceased's identity was withheld.
It is alleged that on the 13th of October 2022 at around 11:00 am from Adongkena East village, Te-nam Sub County, Filda Anek, the deceased mother, went to the garden and left behind her two sons at home including the deceased.
Part of the reports adds that the deceased was taken to the mother in the garden to breastfeed before he was reported killed by his stepmother.
ASP David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa river regional police spokesperson said that the scene was visited and examined by police officers from Puranga police station but yet to be revisited by the homicide team, statements recorded from relevant witnesses and murder case registered under vide CRB 389/2022 at Pader CPS.
Mudong added that a postmortem examination done at Acholi-pii health center III confirms that the deceased neck was broken by the suspect who was later arrested and detained pending statement recording and examination on police form 24 while other inquiries pending.
