Former NRM Chairperson, District Councilor Implicated in an Alleged Cattle Theft




Pader: Former District NRM Chairperson Pader, District Councilor for Pukor Sub-County and first son to Pader District Chairperson, Oyat George Obwoya, and 3 others has been implicated by locals in an alleged rampant stealing of Cows in the districts Pader and Agago.


A total of 21 complaints, have been registered from Agago and Pader districts at the office of Sub-County Chairperson for Pukor, regarding disappearances of Cows in the past two years leading to recovery of two.


Other people implicated in aiding the alleged theft of the Cows with the District Councilor are, Odong Marino Paco-Paco, Chairperson LC1 of Olam Central village, Oryem Bosco, LC1 of Olam village in Pader district and Odoch Aldo, LC1 of Oyarotonge west cell in Agago District.


Moro Tarasisto, and Charles Too-kwaro, both complainants and residents of Agago town council in Agago district and Pader town council in Pader district respectively, made complaints about the loss of their animals before it was netted.

Moro’s bull was handed back to him after he recovered it from Robert Too-lit, who claimed that the accused sold the bull to him at a cost of Shillings 1million.

Too-lit, a resident of Pader town council who bought the bull demanded that the accused refund his money plus other costs he met while having the animal.

Ojwini confirmed that his office received numerous complaints about animal theft, and purported forged documents were recovered from the some village chairperson who abetted the vice. He further adds that, the accused is allegedly intimidating members of the area upon unearthing the vice.

However, when contacted for comments, Oyat declined to give comments after several calls for comments.
