Two persons were killed and others injured when a speeding Dyna was alleged to have lost control on Lira city – Pader Road one kilometer to Ayami primary school early today.
The Dyna white in color, under registration number UBD 011U, left Pader for Lira city for the market on the 23rd of April 2022.
According to one of the eyewitnesses, the driver of the Dyna who is yet to be identified, and on the run was overspeeding while drunk.
Esther Lalam, district councilor V for Lunyiri sub-county said that the impact was so massive that two persons traveling on the vehicle were reportedly dead with one dying on spot, and the other dying while on the way to the hospital.
The injured people were rushed to the Lira city hospital, and others to Duke Medical center in Puranga sub-county, Pader district.
Lalam added that the deceased has been identified as Christopher Kilama, a resident of Laboye village, Lagile parish, Lunyiri sub-county in Pader district, and one person yet to be identified both believed to be residents of Pader district.
