A teacher of Oyuku Garagara primary school in Latanya sub-county has been arrested this morning at around 7 am by Latanya police officers on allegations of defiling a mad girl aged 16 at his place.
Richard Opira, a government teacher by profession who resides in Oyuku garagara in Ngekidi parish, Latanya sub-county was arrested after a group of angry residents stormed his residence for alleged defilement of a minor who is reported to be mad.
Richard was later rescued by his workmate who was called to intervene and helped as locals were very angry and wanted to kill Richard for acts.
Alvin Wokorach, village chairperson of Oyuku garagara who doubles as the chairperson of the parents' teacher's association of Oyuku garagara primary school says that Richard could have been killed by the mob for his acts. He adds that the accused was arrested and taken by the police found in Latanya.
According to Alvin, Richard’s behavior has recently sparked several issues among the locals because he is always found indulging in filthy acts. He adds the district education officer also advised him on how to behave, but all in vain.
