Police at Lamwo Central Police Station vide CRB 54/2022 have on 10th February 2022 arrested and detained a man aged 69 years for murder of a fellow aged 40 and a resident of Katumu Village, Katumu Subcounty in Lamwo District.
Nathan Nsimbi was arrested for allegedly murdering Mr. Oryem Richard aged 40 years, Acholi by tribe of the same above address.
LCI Chairperson of Katumu village, Mr. James Komakech said that, on the 9/02/2022 at around 2000hrs while drinking at Katumu trading center, the deceased and the suspect picked a quarrel and as both were retiring back home.
He added that they allegedly fought on the way prompting the deceased to make an alarm that attracted one of the neighbors.
ASP. David Ongom Mudong, Aswa River Region police spokesperson said that, the deceased was found dead along side the road by the residents on 10/2/2022.
He added that the Police was notified and a team of detectives including Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) rushed to the scene, examined, analyzed and documented it. Statements were recorded at the scene from relevant witnesses, body evacuated to Padibe Health Center IV for postmortem, suspect arrested, charged and detained.
According to the investigation, there was no clear motives yet established towards this incident, the police would wish to caution the public to desist from resorting to violence under the influence of alcohol.
The detectives are actively developing the case file pending submission to Resident State Attorney for perusal and legal guidance.
