Police in Amuru district is investigating circumstances by which a Boda cyclist was on 28th October 2022 allegedly put at gun-point and his motorcycle with registration number UFL 879V taken away at around 12:01 am from Lorikowo west village, Elegu town council in Amuru District.
The Boda rider had been identified as Allan Namise, 22, a resident of Lorikowo west village, Elegu town council in Amuru District.
Namise alleged that two unidentified men pushed him down while on a motorcycle and robbed him of his motorcycle using a pistol and later rode away toward Gulu city.
ASP David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa river regional police spokesperson said that the complainant reported the case at the Elegu police station.
He added that police officers coordinated with Mogo company with a tracking device for that motorcycle and recovered it in Anaka town council in Nwoya district abandoned.
According to Mudong, the thugs were not identified as a case of Aggravated Robbery Registered under CRB183/2022 at Amuru police station after the statement was recorded from witnesses.
He added that police recovered some exhibits which are still in Nwoya police station as investigations loom to identify the suspects.
